Practicing Wet Plate Collodion Photography
On 27 June 2020 by IrwandiLocated at Goldstreet Studio Australia, in July 2019 I had the opportunity to practice wet plate photography under the owner’s guidance, Ellie Young. Goldstreet Studio itself is a workshop and gallery that has a good reputation in Australia. Located in Trentam East Victoria, 1 hour north of Melbourne. Need to be careful in doing wet plate photography, especially in maintaining silver nitrate levels, pouring collodion onto the plates, and plate processing. Wet plate photography itself is one of the photography processes to produce positive images, can be divided into tintype / ferrotype for wet plates on metal, and ambrotype for wet plates on glass. This process was discovered in the mid-19th century, around the 1850s. invented by Frederick Scott Archer. Thanks to Mr. Suherry Arno that support me and make my experience to pracaticing wet plate photography possible.
